DEBT FREE BABY!

2:34 PM, Sep. 24, 2007 .. Posted in Whateverrrr .. 3 comments .. Link

One of the good things that has come out of having my position eliminated was the influx of a big wad of cash due to cashing out my 401k.  Even after the penalty and tax deductions, I still netted a nice amount.  When the payments clear my account tomorrow, I will officially be debt free.  That's a very good thing.

I am also treating myself to a brand spankin' new camera - I need it for the digital photography class I'm taking next term & I have the money to do it with (see above) and since it's an educational expense, it's TAX DEDUCTIBLE - woo-hoo! So, hopefully I'll be able to eventually post some pics here.  A laptop is in my future, I just think it's gonna be tax refund time rather than now.  Then, that'll be another tax write-off for next year. heh.

I have an interview with the state Attorney General's office on Wednesday for an internship.  If I'm gonna be this busy at not working, I might as well have something worth putting on a resume to show for it, I figure.  It's only 12 hours a week, which leaves plenty of time to work, when I get a job.  I interviewed last Thursday with the State for their temp pool.  That'd be good to get.  Work a while, be off when the assignment ends, pick & choose when I work. Nice.

Shelby got another grade progress report, and the B- that she had in Algebra is now a B since she made up the assignment she missed.  That's allowable.  That B-, I was not thrilled with.  Conferences are this week so I can see if there's anything else that needs work. I'm very happy with the grades so far though, mostly A's with a couple B's.

She also had her first adjustment of her braces this morning.  It'll be interesting to see if her mouth hurt all day or not.  I haven't gotten any phone calls today, so I'm taking that as a good sign.

All-righty then! That's the news that's worth hearing, in a nutshell. I gotta go do some research and get busy writing some papers...I have 3 that I have to turn in tomorrow night.  PROCRASTINATION my middle name?  Yep, the last couple weeks it has been.
