Jul. 13, 2007 - Tiny Bubbles

You and your child can send clouds of tiny bubbles skyward with this quick trick.

CRAFT MATERIALS:

Drinking straws 

Tape 

Dishwashing liquid 

Light corn syrup (or glycerin)

TIME NEEDED: 30 Minutes or Less

1. Instead of a traditional bubble wand, use a number of drinking straws bound together with a few pieces of tape.

2. Dip one end of the bundle into a shallow dish of bubble solution (you can make your own by combining 1 cup of water with 1/3 cup of Dawn or Joy dishwashing liquid and 2 tablespoons of light corn syrup or glycerin), then blow through the straws, being careful not to let the solution run down the straws to your mouth.

3. The cluster of straws will produce scores of diminutive bubbles

Jan. 3, 2007 - Any FLY Ladies out there?

Okay, so about 2 weeks ago I came across the best website for organizing.  And since it's the New Year (resolutions, and all) I figured I should pass this along to everyone I know.  And YES, that includes YOU!

Basically you sign up the emails and they remind you (by sending multiple emails a day) to get off your keister and do things around the house.  It really is making a big difference in plain ole ME and my house.

For instance, I'm motivated to get things done around the house.  The house ACTUALLY IS cleaner, and things are (beginning to get) put away.  The beauty behind the FLY Lady system (BTW, the "FLY" stands for "finally loving yourself) is that it teaches you that you are worthy of having a clean house, having love, and treating your own self nicely.  And doesn't everyone feel nice about having a nice home. 

The FLY Lady trains you to get organized in just 15 minute segments.. and anyone can do anything (no matter how dreadful the thing may be) for just 15 minutes.

I know this totally sounds like some advertisement, but it is really great, really, really great.  I feel like a whole new person.  My hubby is beginning to see a difference too, and I haven't even told him I'm doing this new program.
